Curling

For the most natural-looking bend, squeeze an eyelash curler at the lash roots and then pump the culer as you move outwad toward the ends. This gently and gradually curls the lashes. [1] Don’t squeeze in one place too long or you’ll give them a harsh right angle.[2]

Fake Lashes

Full false lashes add immediate density to the whole lash area. Individual lashes are best when you want to fill in sparse areas or for creating a fluttery-eye look.[3]

Application

  1. One of the best ways to conceal a false lash is to first apply a smoky line of color to the base of the lashline.[3]
  2. For full false lashes, measure the strip against your own eye. Cut it down if necessary for a more custom fit.[4]
  3. You can optionally trip the ends of the false eye lash for a more natural, even look.[4]
  4. Apply a thin line of eyelash adhesive to the lashband and allow the adhesive to set a moment.[3]
  5. Hold the lash tips, away from the lashband and glue, and apply the false lashes as close to the natural lashline as possible. Start applying from the outer corner of the eye.[3]
  6. Once the outside corner is adhering, work inward, pressing false lashes to lashline until entire band is affixed. Be careful not to squeeze eyes shut too hard, until glue is dried.[3] Try cutting the end of a cotton swap and use the ensuing stick to help gently press the false lash to the lashline.[4]
  7. Curl and apply mascara. Curling helps hide the glue.[3]

  • To help false lashes look more realistic, draw black eyeliner along the top lashes, press on the lash strip, and then add another layer of liner to fill in any gaps of bare skin.[5]
